“Pacing” is a catch-all term for how fast or slow something occurs, but we have sentence-level pacing, paragraph-level pacing, scene-level pacing, and so on, all the way up to story-level pacing. Pacing is fractal up until it’s not. Not very helpful, I’m afraid, but there it is. Let’s tackle it anyway.
